Design
Years ago, I was working on building a graphic design business, and in the set up, I was looking for and trying out different names. When I'd picked my niche, I knew I wanted to work primarily with media—designing book covers, album art, anything similar—and I narrowed down to "media design" as the descriptor for it. One day, something reminded of my childhood love for Sherlock Holmes, and the phrase "consulting mediologist" popped into my head, inspired by his being the world's premier (fictional) "consulting detective." I loved it, so I set about my due diligence looking at existing intellectual property and protected terminology laws and, in doing, discovered the work of Régis Debray. I started reading, and I was hooked.
